The ongoing exhibition titled "The Fifth Dimension: Art of Fiber and Space" features over 20 Chinese artists who manage to apply the so-called "soft material" — fiber — to various art forms including painting, sculpture and installation. The exhibition mainly pays tribute to respected Professor Maryn Varbanov from Tapestry Research Institute of China Academy of Art, who has made tremendous contributions to fi ber art over the past decades. With the wider use of fi ber and other materials, “The Fifth Dimension” is intended to offer viewers a new aesthetic concept and vision
drawn from everyday life.
