Purpose
Live in Shanghai is inspired by the concept of ‘web 2.0’ which uses the internet as a platform for users to share ideas. So instead of Shanghai Daily editors telling you where to go and what to see or do in Shanghai, Live in Shanghai let’s you, the user, have the last say on what’s hot and what’s not in the city.
Just found a tasty restaurant down an obscure alley? You can add it to our directories. Just gone to a bank branch and been horrified by the service? Write a review. Moving house and have a kitten to give away? Place an ad in our classifieds. All this and more you can do in our new website, including uploading your pictures of venues or events.
Your city, your website
Every new website takes a while to mature, and Live in Shanghai is still a work in progress. We invite you to take part in this process. You can send us feedback on any part of the website and suggestions for improvement so we can work together to make it a tool that you will love using.
In the meantime we ask for your understanding and patience with minor bugs in the system which is inevitable for any complex IT project.
History
This website is the completely re-designed, second version of Live in Shanghai. The old version went online a year ago and was very popular. But because of limited interactivity it lacked a certain something. That’s why we completely overhauled it to provide a website that is not just an improvement but a completely new experience. Interactivity will put the ‘live’ into ‘Live in Shanghai’!
(Fans of the old Live in Shanghai can still access it though all the events information have moved to the new website. The old Live in Shanghai has now been renamed as City Guide).
